James was educated at Millfield School in Somerset, where his passion for sport was ignited. Whilst he participated in a variety of sports, it was cricket where he excelled. James currently plays professionally for Somerset County Cricket Club, where he is vice captain. He made his debut in 2003 and has gone on to represent the 1st team over 430 times so far. Previously, he has represented England throughout the age groups and competed in 2 junior World Cups. His self-proclaimed career highlight to date was captaining the England Lions in 2010/11. James still harbours ambitions of going on to represent the full international side.
Alongside a professional cricket career, James has sparked another interest in the psychology of sport. This has led him to complete his Masters degree in Applied Sport Psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University. James is a firm believer in the psychological side of performance, enjoying nothing more than seeing the development of individuals and groups that he works with.
Aside from cricket and psychology, James is married to Aimee, who is a P.E teacher, and they are expecting their first child in June.
With James’s 11 years playing experience as a professional cricketer, combined with his theoretical understanding of sport psychology, he is able to provide unique assistance to both corporate and sporting individuals or organisations. Whether it is a 1 on 1 consultation, group workshop or seminar James can offer valuable insights into how you can best achieve your goals.
