I have a level three diploma in Pilates with Alan Herdman, head of The Pilates Institute nationally, and who teaching on an international level. With 6 years of teaching experience behind me I keep my skills up-to-date by attending regular workshops both locally and in London.
I teach different classes to suit a wide range of abilities, from beginners to advanced classes. I also provide small group and private classes for clients who have specific injuries/requirements. My diverse group of clients include athletes, dancers, footballers, cricketers, pregnant women and the elderly.
I have a background in professional dancing, but unfortunately following a serious hip injury, I was unable to continue dancing at this level. This professional training has provided me with the fundamental principles of dedication and discipline as well as an understanding of the importance of human anatomy and movement.
Overcoming my own personal injury has inspired me to help others achieve their own goals. I am passionate about teaching Pilates for fitness, injury prevention and rehabillitation. Pilates helps improve flexibility, balance, posture and co-ordination. I am delighted to joint the multi-disciplinary team at The Crescent Clinic, working alongside the other experienced clinicians.
In my spare time I am very keen on sport and keeping myself fit and healthy. I participate in a wide range of races such as triathlons, aquathons, duathlons, half marathons and open-water swims. I was proud to complete The 3 Peaks Challenge in 2013. I also continue to dance in musical theatre productions as part of The Taunton Amateur Operatic Society. I am also a member of the Wayfayers Pantomime Society.
